Seminar “The Chef of the Future”

Οn  11th of November was  realized with exceptional success seminar with title: “the Chef of the future”

The seminar took place in Larnaca at “Lordos hotel” and participants were executive chefs and head chefs from all over Cyprus.

Mr Andreas Georgiou, who was the seminar lecturer, presented this subject with a lot of examples and gave the stain of evolving Chef, He underlined the new upcoming trends in cooking, as well as new materials and spices that will come soon in Cyprus gastronomy.

At this seminar were present also the Vice president of Cyprus Chefs Association Mr George Kyprianou who suggested to Mr Andreas to co-operate with CCA Education committee for organizing similar seminars.

TRADITIONAL CYPRUS CUISINE SEMINAR FROM C.T.O AND C.C.A

The Cyprus Tourism Organization in cooperation with the Cyprus Chefs Association organized with brilliant success seminar on subject “Cypriot traditional Cuisine”

The seminar was held on 16th of December 2009 at the “Meltemia” restaurant in Ag. Varvara, village, of Nicosia District.  The participants, who attended, were chefs and owners of 25 different restaurants.

The seminar was presented from the Vice-president of Cyprus Chefs Association and instructor Chef Mr. George Kyprianou.

CYPRUS CHEFS ASSOCIATION PARTICIPATED AT THE PROFESSION FAIR “CAREER 2009”

On 28th of November was carried out the established fair of profession “Career 2009”. The event took place in the lobby of Cyprus bank (main building). This job fair is organized for 10 possessed years and the participants were more than 45 Associations and Institutions. They were appeared 75 different professions.

For one more time, Cyprus Chefs Association was present at this event by participating and appearing the profession of Cook!

Many students showed their interest about “Chef” studies and generally the Culinary Arts professions. The representatives of Cyprus Chefs Association willingly gave to students and parents all the necessarily information about the job of Cook.

The Cyprus Chefs Association  represented by Mr Marios Hatziosif (Office Director of the Association) Mr Yiannis Katshis (Vice-president of Education) and Mr  George Kyprianou (Vice-president of public relations).

Ολυμπιακοι αγωνες μαγειρικης 2008

Ο Σύνδεσμος Αρχιμαγείρων Κύπρου με μεγάλη χαρά σας ανακοινώνει την αναχώρηση της Ολυμπιακής Ομάδας Μαγειρικής Κύπρου για το Erfurt  της Γερμανίας, την Πέμπτη, 16 Οκτωβρίου 2008.

Η ομάδα μας θα λάβει μέρος στους Ολυμπιακούς Αγώνες Μαγειρικής όπου θα διαγωνιστεί με τις υπόλοιπες 32 καλύτερες χώρες που έχουν προκριθεί στον τελικό. Με τη σειρά μας θα θέλαμε να τους ευχηθούμε Καλό Ταξίδι και Καλή Επιτυχία στον δύσκολο αυτό διαγωνισμό και είμαστε σίγουροι ότι θα προσπαθήσουν για το καλύτερο.

Η Ολυμπιακής μας Ομάδας υπόσχεται, ότι για ακόμη μια φορά θα κάνει την Κύπρο μας περήφανη προσπαθώντας για το χρυσό.

Cyprus Chef’s Association seminars for 2008

The Cyprus Chefs Association through the Education committee announces seminars, which have been approved and will be subsidize from the HRDA.

  1.  “A la carte cuisine” will take place in Nicosia (Intercollege-Nicosia University)  from 06/11/2008 until 07/11/2008, 15:00-21:30 (Thursday – Friday)
  2. “Chinese Cuisine” this seminar will be organized in Limassol from 13/11/2008 until 14/11/2008. (Limassol – Hotel Technical school) 15:00-21:30 (Thursday – Friday)
  3. “Traditional Cyprus cuisine” will take place in Nicosia at Intercollege from 19/11/2008 until 21/11/2008, (Intercollege-Nicosia University) 15:00-21:30 (Wednesday–Friday)

Σεμιναριο «Σαλατες & ελκυστικα ορεκτικα» 2008

Πραγματοποιήθηκε με επιτυχία το σεμινάριο που οργάνωσε ο Σύνδεσμος Αρχιμαγείρων Κύπρου κατά το Α΄ εξάμηνο του 2008 και έλαβε χώρα στα εργαστήρια της Τεχνικής Ξενοδοχειακής Σχολής  Λεμεσού.

Το σεμινάριο είχε σαν θέμα τις καλοκαιρινές σαλάτες και τα ελκυστικά ορεκτικά.

Εκπαιδευτής ήταν ο Κύριος Άγγελος Ιωάννου, ο οποίος εργάζεται ως Sous Chef στο ξενοδοχείο “Four seasons” .

Συνεδριο “Skills for Chefs” 2008

Σαρακοστιανο Φιλανθρωπικο Γευμα 2008

Ο Σύνδεσμος Αρχιμαγείρων Κύπρου πραγματοποίησε  με μεγάλη επιτυχία το 10ο Φιλανθρωπικό Σαρακοστιανό γεύμα. Το γεύμα έλαβε χώρα στο αθλητικό κέντρο της Τράπεζας Κύπρου, Ο διαχειριστής του χώρου εστίασης κύριος Μιχάλης Χατζήκυριάκος, πρόσφερε αφιλοκερδώς πέρα του χώρου και το δωρεάν σέρβις.

Η εκδήλωση ήταν εξολοκλήρου αφιερωμένη στο εκλιπόντα συνάδελφο και φίλο του Αντώνη, του Γιώργου αλλά και ολόκληρης της «οικογένειας» του Συνδέσμου Αρχιμαγείρων Κύπρου, το Γιαννάκη Κουρρά!

Ομάδα Αρχιμαγείρων του Συνδέσμου ανάλαβαν να βρουν τους προμηθευτές – χορηγούς, τον χώρο,  και να μαγειρέψουν με μεγάλη αγάπη τα εδέσματα, που απόλαυσαν πέραν των διακοσίων καλεσμένων.

Στη φωτογραφία ο Πρόεδρος του Συνδέσμου Αρχιμαγείρων Κύπρου Γιαννάκης Αγαπίου και ο Αντιπρόεδρος  Γιώργος Κυπριανού παραδίδουν πλακέτα στη Γυναίκα του Γιαννάκη Κουρρά, κυρία Νίκη Κουρρά σε ένδειξη συνεχής μνήμης και εκτίμησης, του φίλου και συναδέλφου Γιαννάκη.

Exhibition “Gastronomia – Gastrognosia 2008”

The Mediterranean Culinary competitions was successfully, held at the Cyprus State fair in Nicosia, from the 7th to 10th of February 2008. Visitors had the opportunity to get informed about food, drinks, and hotel equipment. They also enjoyed and tasted varieties of new products and of course became impressed from the high standards of the competitions, in which students of Technical schools, of colleges and professionals participated.

The most famous competitions were “The Young Chef of the year”, “Chef of the year” and “Pastry Chef of the year”

The “Young Chef of the year” price was won by Mr Andreas Andreou, who is a chef at “Mondo” restaurant and student of Culinary Arts at Intercollege.

“Chef of the year” was gone to Mr Nicos Nicolaou, who works at “Sodexho”

“Pastry Chef of the year price was won by Mr Dimitris Sakampetis, who works as a pastry Chef at the Intercontinental hotel.

The National Olympic Teams impressed the visitors with their presentations in cold buffet and live hot kitchen. National Olympic Teams, which took part in these competitions, were Malta, Romania, Czech Republic, England, Portugal and Cyprus. The overall winner who took the gold medal was the team of Czech Republic.

“Gastronomia – Gastrognosia 2008” was co-organized by the Cyprus Chefs Association, Cyprus Federation of Confectioners, Pancyprian Association of Bakers and the organizing company of Georgallis Fair and Easy systems.

The specialized Exhibition “Gastronomia – Gastrognosia 2008” presented the products of the food sector of the economy, offered the opportunity to the professionals to get to know new or already known products and companies in the food and beverage sector, with the aim of expanding their business.

The organization of the Exhibition “Gastronomia – Gastrognosia 2008” with the participation of a large number of businesses is very important for Cyprus and Hospitality industry in general. Gastronomic exhibitions promoted successfully in Cyprus and in the wider market.

The consumer in “Gastronomia – Gastrognosia 2008” has always the opportunity to try the traditional Mediterranean tastes and to be informed from the exhibitors on the great variety of foods and beverages, so that he or she is able to make the rights choices.
