NEXT EXHIBITION
GASTRONOMIA – GASTROGNOSIA 2012 is planned to take place from the 2 – 4 MARCH 2012 at the State Fair in Nicosia.
PARTICIPATING COMPANIES
Companies dealing with food, beverage, raw materials and finished products for cooking, pastry and bakery, equipment for restaurants – hotels – bakeries and pastry shops, machinery, packaging, catalogues, disposable products, hygiene products, accessories, uniforms, professional vehicles, plates, glasses, dinner service and kitchen tools and generally everything related with food, beverages and equipment from Cyprus and other Countries, are entitled to take place in the exhibition.

VISITORS
The exhibition is visited by professional chefs, confectioners, bakers, bartenders, hotel and restaurant owners and managers, and also people working in foodservice, food arts schools, and practitioners from Cyprus and abroad .

In the exhibition companies involved in the food industry have the opportunity to come into direct contact with the professionals whom they are interested for and present their latest developments, technologies and styles of products and services, with demonstrations, applications, seminars and presentations, from the site of exposure to a different approach towards the professionals. CYPRUS BARTENDERS ASSOCIATION will this year organize:
- First Non – Alcoholic Cocktail Competition where the winner will be traveling to Czech Republic and represent Cyprus in 3rd Non – Alcoholic Cocktail Championship (The best Non – Alcoholic Cocktail in the World) on Grand Mattoni Drink 2012.
- Junior Cocktail Championship for students of Technical Schools
- 2nd Pancyprian Cocktail Competition – Cocktails with base of local variety of wines in cooperation with Wine Product Council (SAP)

Space beer
The first beer to be consumed in space is now a fact proving that, even the most particular travelers are entitled to alcohol. Australian brewer “4 Pines” innovates and manufactures “ Vostok – 4 Pines Stout” which is the first space beer intended for consumption in scheduled trips of Space Tourism. It is specifically designed to meet the distinct conditions in spacecrafts and is in reality a beer with a stronger flavor and less froth. In space the astronauts face and tongue swell and the sense of taste weakens; thus, this astro-beer has additional chocolate syrup and caramel to enhance the flavor, while retaining its characteristics. Moreover, the new beer will be less bubbly, and due to the lack of gravity in space will not allow the separation of gases and liquids during belching. All tasting trials are done through controls in microgravity environments, resembling those on a real spacecraft. The researchers during the flight drank 6 samples of 150ml and then monitored the body temperature, heart rate and absorption of alcohol. The tests so far have been described as successful and the beer may accompany astronauts on one of their next trips.

Another term of our Associations Directors Board is completed
On behalf of the Directors Board and me personally, I invite you to join us to the annual CCA general meeting, which will take place in the “Four Seasons” Hotel, in Limassol on December the 3rd 2011, 10:00am. We remind to our beloved members that on their arrival they should pay their annual subscriptions, those who have not yet done it.
As in the last Annual Meeting, there will be two parts. During the first part, the President will make the review, under the presence of CCA’s several guests. In the second part, elections will be conducted. In between the first and the second part, lunch will be held, a gentle corporate sponsorship of «ANCO Metal Ventilation Ltd.» and «Lakis Trapalidis & Son Ltd», to whom we are thankful in particular. According to our Associations Statute, the CCA Directors Board term is reaching the end, there will be held elections in order to select the new CCA Board Directors.
