Wiped the mushrooms
Mushrooms should be wiped off with a damp cloth and not washed under the faucet since they are like sponges and will absorb the water.
Dirty leeks
Leeks are full of hard to get at sand and dirt, chop them first, then give them a bath in cold water and drain in a colander.
Roasting pan
Make sure your roasting pan is the correct size and is placed on the middle rack.
When roasting, save the pan juices for your gravy.
Excess tomato puree
Excess tomato puree may be frozen in an ice cube tray. Remove frozen cubes and store in a sealable freezer bag, using as and when required.
Muffin mixture

Add a few drops of lemon juice to rice, while it is cooking. This will keep the grain from breaking easily.
Fruits blackish
Lemon juice when added to fruit like apples, bananas after cutting and tossed lightly will prevent them from turning blackish immediately. This job can be simplified by using a small spray bottle spray the fruit.
Tomatoes for sauce
Choose the smaller, flat, thin skinned tomatoes, for making sauces. They will not only give better quality sauce, flavour will also be better.
Ripen tomatoes
Put a firm banana for company with still to ripen tomatoes, into a closed basket or a loose Plastic bag. They will ripen very fast.
