- For meat balls:
- 350 grams pork mince meat
- ½ chopped onion
- 2 tablespoons chopped parsley
- 1 teaspoon dry mint
- 2 tablespoons brandy
- ½ tea cup soaked bread in milk, drained
- ¼ teaspoon cinnamon powder
- 3 tablespoons halloumi cheese
- 1 large potato, peeled and shredded
- 1 egg
- Salt and pepper
- Vegetable oil for deep frying
For fava puree:
- 2 cups boiled fava beans
- 2 tablespoons soft butter
- 1 cup milk
- Salt and pepper
- 2 lemons
Freshly cut salad as a garnish
Method:
- Put all puree ingredients into the blender and mix. Add salt and pepper to your liking.
- In a deep dish mix all the meat ball ingredients together except the oil.
- Refrigerate for about an hour.
- Heattheoilinalargepot.
- Make small ball shapes out of the meat ball mixture and place in the oil to fry. Make sure all sides of the meatball cook before you take them out of the oil.
- Place the meat balls over the heated fava puree and serve with fresh salad and lemon.
